Deaf TV's Journal

Deaf TV set a plan to send our camera operators to the activities in which the Deaf persons are to be involved in the community.  The active members of Deaf TV often spend their time on camera and computer in their week to week leisure although they are mostly in turns. Some institutes for the deaf are kind to provide us some moving images for our programs.

As C31 is not yet broadcasting digitally, the Federal Government is still requring a review to find a way to facilitate the digital signal. Many people are buying digital television that cannot signal C31's analog tranmission. It is believed that 40 percent of Melbourne TV sets are convented to digial only television. C31 had no choice but they launched its campaign to request for digital tranmission. Analogue will possibly be switched off in 2010-2012 and you may throw out your old non-digital TV sets in the street.

WIKIPEDIA: This is one of Deaf TV's logos which is appeared on C31 Melbourne in the Wikipedia website. The caption says, "Deaf TV, one of the diverse programs on Channel 31." Deaf TV is still mentioned in the Auslan article in the Wikipedia.

Deaf TV Crew

Winter 2008

Julian came to film Deaf Football Victoria's Pizza Nite - it should call a pie night instead - and each Victorian player received his footy jumper - automatically selected into the Victorian team.

On Queen's Birthday weekend (incidentally not her birthday in the weekend!), Victoria played against a combined team called Allies - some from SA, WA, NSW and Qld - at Noble Park, about 30 km south east from Melbourne. Julian filmed some close-ups of running playing thrushes. It was a great typical Aussie football match. The non-Aussie footy observers think the Aussie footy playset is not organised but it is. It is an organised free-play.

Spring 2008

Julian filmed Victorian Open Deaf Tenpin Bowling Championships in Moorabbin and Ron Chapman was the brilliant President to display a presentation of awards. Sal plans to film a deaf man's minilated train club activities in Moorabbin. Robyn will take control of her camera at VCOD's Debate Night during the National Week of Deaf People at a pub in South Melbourne.
